COLCHICINE & CIRRHOSIS

A few years ago there was a LARGE study from Mexico where patients with
cirrhosis of the liver of multiple etiologies (mostly ETOH) were given
colchicine or placebo and followed for up to 12 years. The study claimed that
the treated group had a significantly longer survival.

I am not aware of this being duplicated. However, since low dose colchcine is
so innocuous, it would seem giving 1 mg. once or twice a day would "first do
no harm" and might do some good.

Has anyone on this forum used colchicine for this purpose?
