neuromas

One of my surgeon friends scoffs at the notion of removing neuromas
(specifically, Morton’s neuromas) surgically on the grounds that "you can’t
even see them."

Any truth to that?

It’s true that you can’t see them, since they are within the foot,
specifically between the metatarsals.  However, if they are there,
you can *feel* them, they can produce pain in the foot when you
walk, run, or ski.  That’s why they are often removed.
